PARTLY TRUE "A $3 BILLION AI Berkshire Hathaway — want in?" — from a marketer under a federal deception order
The claimI'm launching the biggest company I've ever done after selling $100M+ online. Already raised $4 Million — want in? We're building a projected $3 BILLION AI 'Berkshire Hathaway' that buys 100 agentic AI companies (10 in the next 9 months). Also: build your own AI clone — free 3-day challenge at MakeMyClone.ai.
This one's real — that's what makes it dangerous. Anik Singal is a real person, Ugentic is a real SEC-registered Delaware company, the Tysons Corner summit is real, and the clone challenge is real. Now the gaps. In 2023 the FTC hit Singal and his company Lurn with a $14M judgment (partially suspended, $2.5M paid in refunds) and PERMANENTLY BARRED him from unsubstantiated earnings claims — and 'projected $3 BILLION... want in?' is exactly that genre of sentence. The '$4M raised' exists only in his own press release; the SEC-verifiable crowdfunding total is about $465K. The company is 18 months old, lost $2.9M on $2.2M revenue, and its two 'acquisitions' toward the 100-company empire are a newsletter and Singal's own previous company. To his credit, the actual SEC filings disclose the FTC order honestly — but the Facebook copy isn't the filing, and that gap is the whole game. The funnel underneath: free 3-day challenge → $37 VIP upgrade → high-ticket CloneIQ course → an equity 'want in?' on top.
What holds up
- Real, identifiable operator; real SEC-registered company with genuine Form C filings
- The crowdfunding raise, summit, and 3-day clone challenge all verifiably exist
- The Reg CF disclosure documents are honest — they even disclose his FTC order in the officer bios
- The underlying idea (AI clone of yourself for content) is real, buildable technology
What doesn't
- 2023 FTC order: $14M judgment, $2.5M refunded to ~1,900 customers, permanent ban on unsubstantiated earnings claims
- '$4M raised' is a self-issued press release; SEC filings verify ~$465K of crowd money
- '$3 BILLION projected' appears nowhere in any SEC filing — pure marketing number
- The 100-company roll-up currently consists of a newsletter and his own former company
- $0.10 illiquid Reg CF shares from a company running a $2.9M annual loss
- Long complaint trail on his programs: refused refunds, aggressive upsells — the FTC-ordered refunds confirm it wasn't anecdotal
The catch
Every layer of this feeds the next: free challenge → $37 VIP → high-ticket clone course → 'invest in me' equity ask → summit ticket. The product being sold at every step is proximity to a $3B number that exists only in the ad copy.
How to actually do it
- Want the AI clone? Build it: ElevenLabs voice clone (~$22/mo) + HeyGen avatar (~$29/mo) + a Claude project loaded with your own transcripts as the brain. ~$50-80/month total, one weekend of setup — no challenge, no upsell ladder
- Before ANY crowdfunding 'want in': read the actual Form C on SEC EDGAR, not the press release. Five minutes, free, and in this case it contradicts the pitch on the numbers
- When a promoter has a federal order about earnings claims, weight every number in the ad at zero until the filing confirms it
- Rule of thumb: real raised money has an SEC accession number; 'projected' money has a countdown timer
The clone tech itself is real and cheap to build yourself — that's the honest alternative, and we priced it out.
- Effort
- DIY clone: a weekend to stand up, a few evenings to tune the voice and load the brain
- Cost
- DIY: ~$50-80/month all-in. The funnel: free → $37 → high-ticket course → $1,000 minimum equity ticket at a 7% portal fee
- Stack
- ElevenLabs (voice) + HeyGen (avatar video) + Claude with your own content corpus (brain) — every piece off-the-shelf
- Confidence
- High
