PARTLY "5 Claude Code plugins every builder needs" — four solid picks and one stat the repo itself already retracted
The claim5 GitHub repos / Claude Code plugins every AI builder needs: Graphify (maps your repo into a knowledge graph so Claude navigates instead of grepping), Impeccable (audits frontend for 24 design tells, kills AI-slop UI), Ponytail ('writes 80–94% less code, up to 75% cheaper, 3–6x faster'), Higgsfield MCP (image + video generation in-thread), and Obsidian as a persistent second brain.
Four of the five are real and genuinely useful — Graphify does build a repo knowledge graph so Claude stops grepping blind, Impeccable really does hunt AI-slop UI tells, Higgsfield MCP really does wire image/video generation into Claude Code, and the Obsidian-as-memory trick we run ourselves. The problem is the one with the biggest number. Ponytail's headline '80–94% less code' came from a flawed single-shot benchmark that the maintainer PUBLICLY RETRACTED — the rebuilt, realistic benchmark shows about 54% less code on average, ~20% cheaper, ~27% faster. The slideshow is quoting the dead numbers, and its '75% cheaper / 3–6x faster' don't match even the old claim. Real skill, modest real benefit, obsolete stat.
What holds up
- Graphify is real — builds a repo knowledge graph so Claude navigates instead of grepping, exactly as claimed
- Impeccable is real (by an ex-Google designer) — dozens of deterministic rules that flag AI-slop UI tells
- Higgsfield MCP is real — one MCP wiring GPT Image 2 / Seedance / video into Claude Code
- Obsidian-as-memory is real — we run it in production
What doesn't
- Ponytail's '80–94% less code' was RETRACTED by its own maintainer — the corrected benchmark is ~54% less code, ~20% cheaper, ~27% faster
- '75% cheaper / 3–6x faster' matches neither the corrected numbers (20% / 27%) nor even the old claim — invented precision
- 'Free' MCP omits Higgsfield's credit costs — real video work lands in the $49+/mo tier
- Graphify's viral '70x token savings' is a blog claim, not an independent benchmark
The catch
The tools are a good list; the marquee statistic is one the repo already corrected a month before this posted. When a plugin's own maintainer walks a number back and the video keeps quoting it, that's the tell — the exciting figure is doing sales work the corrected figure can't.
How to actually do it
- Graphify: genuinely useful on large codebases — expect real token savings, just not the blog's 70x
- Impeccable: good AI-slop-UI catcher; treat its fixes as suggestions to review, not gospel
- Ponytail: real and helpful, but set expectations at the CORRECTED numbers (~54% less code, ~20% cheaper) — or just put 'prefer stdlib, no speculative abstraction' in your CLAUDE.md and skip it
- Higgsfield MCP: fine tool; know that generating anything real burns credits — budget the $15–49/mo tier
- Obsidian-as-memory: the free, no-catch winner of the five — start here
The picks worth installing, with honest expectations on each.
- Effort
- An hour to install the set; the Obsidian memory habit compounds over weeks
- Cost
- Plugins free; Higgsfield generation is $15–49+/mo in credits
- Stack
- Graphify + Impeccable + Obsidian memory; Ponytail with corrected expectations; Higgsfield only if you generate media
- Confidence
- High
