The stack is real and the price list is roughly honest — that's rarer than it should be. video-use (browser-use, 20k+ stars), HyperFrames (HeyGen's HTML-to-video renderer), Remotion's Claude skill, Whisper, ffmpeg, yt-dlp: all real, all free, all genuinely composable into an agent-driven editing pipeline. What's oversold: 'Godly' assembly takes real setup hours per tool, the pieces don't snap together — someone has to wire 12 tools into one workflow — and the comment-"AI" gate feeds a Skool community whose free tier exists to sell you something later.

What holds up

  • video-use verified: browser-use's agent video editor, active repo (also graded inside #043/#044)
  • HyperFrames verified: HeyGen open-source, ships as a Claude Code skill, single npm install
  • Remotion has an official Claude agent-skills route; Whisper/ffmpeg/yt-dlp are the standard free media stack

  • pip install video-use (needs Python 3.11+ and ffmpeg); test on one podcast episode before client work
  • Add HyperFrames only when you need motion graphics: it installs as a Claude Code skill via npm
  • Ignore the DaVinci tease — export finished cuts and finish color/audio in Resolve manually if you need it
